NESTLED IN THE SANDIAS | The Studio is located on Calle de Mañana in the Sandia Mountain Range, at the edge of the high desert, a short drive to Santa Fe, with access to over 250 galleries + a dozen native Pueblos. New Mexico offers a backdrop of wild freedom + heart-felt living, amidst historical culture and the quiet beauty of nature.
CONNECTION TO NATURE | Inspiration is found through daily walks in the high-desert, with studio dog Gracie. An ever-changing sky reveals shifting patterns of light and connection to the mystical realm. Seasonal wild blooms & local native textiles lend colorways that pop. All offer an invitation to paint and draw. This meditative ambling time on foot through nature brings unconscious ideas forward. Discovering interesting rocks inspires a return to studio time to hammer out a ring, string stone beads.
The Studio’s one-of-a-kind Jewelry may be called rustic modern, offers statement style + has a relaxed organic vibe, encouraging connection to nature and a more spontaneous approach to daily Life . . . “Ah Mañana!”

Laura has spent a life-time exploring the World. She grew up in Washington DC and was exposed to art thru regular visits to museums with her mother an Art Historian.
She lived for two decades on the West Coast in search of adventure outdoors — climbing, backpacking, skiing while also finding solace in the wild backcountry. She followed international opportunities as well.
Laura has combined travel with studies in jewelry design and abstract painting thru various schools — the Pratt Fine Arts Center + Danaca Design, Sedona Arts Center, Haystack School of Arts + Crafts and Esalen. Recent travel includes Iceland, Mexico & NYC.
While living in Mt Tabor in Portland, she participated in a neighborhood weekly group that worked through the Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.
Her career background has focused on various roles within graphic design + branding. She was mentored at Seattle’s School of Visual Concepts and studied art history in London + Rome. A life-long learner, she workshopped Letterpress, Book + Printmaking as well.
Laura studied Psychology at a small North Carolina Liberal Arts College and inherited curiosity from her Physicist father. She draws from two distinct family trees - through her love of nature & travel, arts & culture.
Now living in the mountains of New Mexico, Laura intimately feels connection to nature daily. She taps into meditative qualities through practicing, exploring, teaching Yoga & Energy Healing.
Since her move to NM in 2020, she has been designing beaded Jewelry and creating a wide range of styles of Abstract Art, inspired by both the landscape and culture of the Desert Southwest.

Working in premiere West Coast restaurants his whole adult life, Joel has explored a range of cultures from French cuisine to Spanish tapas to modern PNW fare. He has a strong moral compass around food ethics, supporting local farmers and organic offerings. In the last decade, his side hustle involved creating custom unique menus based on what was the freshest in-season offerings that week with Joel hosting 3-5 hour dinner parties in client’s homes. He has remodeled multiple houses and enjoys making custom furniture. Joel is currently exploring food at La Mama in Santa Fe where he is creating seasonal fare to pair with amazing Natural Wines.
His love of sculpture was enhanced by recent trips with Laura to Spain & Mexico. He joins her in the Studio. Comfortable with a torch, his imagination runs wild, in the newest medium of Metal. Joel enjoys sculpting rings with universal appeal.
